Just gave my contributed talk at this years virtual European Astronomical Society Meeting #EASLeiden2021! I participated in session S3 on galaxy clusters and AGN. I was amazed and excited by all the fab research done around the world!
I presented my study on the complex radio structure of extended radio active galactic nuclei and how the large-scale environment distorts the expected straight radio structure. The data are drawn from my previous large study on radio structure at 3 GHz VLA-COSMOS vs physical properties and environment.

The parameter we are testing is the bent angle (BA) between the jets/lobes of the extended radio sources.

We find no correlations between environmental probes within COSMOS (X-ray galaxy groups, density fields, cosmic web). We find a median BA = 170 degrees at a median redshift of 1. We compare to MHD simulations of Vazza et al. 2021. We find agreement between observations at COSMOS and simulations for z = 0.5 and z = 1. Stayed tuned for more analysis and the Vardoulaki et al. in prep. paper!
